Inkwell Pure Fiction Writers Weekend
28th- 30th May 2010
|
INKwell have organised several extremely successful residential writers weekends at Kippure Lodge
which offers offering quality accommodation privately set in a peaceful valley in the Wicklow
Mountains, the "Garden of Ireland", amidst 240 acres of mature woodland and rolling farm pastures.
All rooms are single occupancy (although they are doubles – so plenty of space if you want to share
with a friend), and have adjacent or ensuite bathrooms.
Each Pure Fiction Weekend is tailor made for the participants and designed to suit both
new and accomplished writers, inspiring creativity and offering solid tips to improve their
writing.
2010 facilitators are Noelle Harrison and Editorial Consultant Alison Walsh.
Noelle will be focusing in the lifeblood of good fiction – character, from development to
dialogue to detail, and will also cover tips on how to get your reader hooked in the first chapter,
and keeping them reading. Represented by Marianne Gunn O’Connor, Noelle’s work is often dark with a
rich use of language and imagery to convey theme. She is a skilled facilitator who has worked for
Inkwell on several occasions.
Alison Walsh worked previously with Gill and MacMillan as an editor and will bring her considerable
expertise to show participants how to edit their work effectively as well as offering invaluable
insight into the publishing industry and the role of an editor. She is also a talented and
entertaining facilitator.
