Enter The Literarian Short Story Contest. They say
The Literarian short story contest is now open until July 2, 2012. Please enter only original, previously unpublished short stories up to 5000 words in length. We will consider simultaneous submissions but request that you notify us immediately if the story becomes unavailable. Each submission should include a cover sheet with only the title of the story and your contact information (name, address, phone, email). The reading fee for each submission is $15
The first-place winner will receive a $1,000 award plus publication in a fall issue of The Literarian. Two runners up will each receive $100. Winners will be notified and announced online in September.
All entries must be submitted online.
