Starting to think about the world of publishing? Wondering what you need to be thinking about, and doing, to give your work the best possible chance of getting published?
Vanessa Fox O’Loughlin runs Inkwell Writers’ Workshops and is a literary scout for Irish and UK agents and publishers including WME and Watson Little in the UK. She also works with all the Irish publshers. Always on the look out for new talent, Vanessa will discuss exactly what the industry is looking for at the moment, what’s hot and what’s not, as well as explaining the role of a scout, an agent and how best to submit your work. Vanessa will show you exactly what you need to do to attract a publisher, what should be in your first submission, and how you can build your author platform – and explain exactly what that is. She has her finger on the pulse of the book business and works across all genre to place the right manuscripts.
