The Getting Published Conference, brings experts from the world of publishing to Dublin for one day on May 28th. Getting Published will demystify the business of publishing, explaining how it all works from contract to bookshelf. Find out what needs to be included in your submission package to publishers or agents and who to approach. New for this year’s conference, Getting Published will feature a panel discussion with Story Consultant and Script Writer Eilish Kent and Script Editor of TV3’s Red Rock Kieran Grimes, offering advice to those looking to break into the world of television writing.
On the day the 75 preselected writers will have the chance to meet privately with an agent to pitch their work and receive valued professional feedback and advice, as well as participate in the conference – these writers submitted work earlier in the year. Agents include Simon Trewin, partner at WME London, and Polly Nolan from The Greenhouse Literary Agency. Simon has worked with authors who have been shortlisted for, or won the Man Booker, Costa Book of the Year and The Irish Book of the Year. Polly has worked with a diverse range of acclaimed authors including Roddy Doyle, Liz Pichon, Frank Cottrell Boyce, Elizabeth Laird, Kevin Brooks and Andrew Lane.
